Established in 1981, Katonah Playcare Early Learning Center is a preschool located in Katonah, New York, serving children ages 18 months and walking to 5 years of age.  Our philosophy is based on a commitment to offering a warm, creative and stimulating environment for young children.  We believe that young children learn through active manipulation of the environment using all their senses.  Each child is seen as an individual with his or her own learning style and needs which are nurtured in a developmentally appropriate program.  The classrooms are designed to provide the children with an environment rich in potential learning experiences.  One of KPCELC’s main goals is to develop, preserve and enrich each child’s sense of wonder and creativity.  The emphasis is on the development of the “whole child,” which includes social skills, academics, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, school readiness skills and emotional growth.  We are also committed to the concept of family support.  A positive relationship with the community at large has been established, and parental involvement is encouraged and welcomed.
